20120422-IMG_5849Arctic-mood has been created at the beginning of 2015 by Julien Schroder in order to share with the public the events and landscapes he had the chance to capture.

Julien discovered photography around 2005, since then he hasn’t stopped to look for new places to photograph and for new trick to allow him improving his photography skills. Julien is french but for the last 5 years he have had the chance to visit and live for a while in Finland, Alaska, Canada and New Zealand before returning and settling down for a while in Alaska.

Julien has a bachelor and master degree in Biology with a speciality in Ecology and remote sensing. He also studied geography and got a bachelor degree in mapping technics such as GIS or remote sensing. So photography is just a hobby, an excuse to go out and take pictures of the awesome things those country have to offer.

In 2013 Julien had the chance to take part to the Yukon Quest (a 1000 miles international sled dog race) as volunteer photographer as well as communication manager at the checkpoint mile 101. This experience hooked him to the race. He returned in 2014 as photographer and followed the Canadian side of the race. In 2015 he will be returning and will follow the whole race.

He will be trying, while in Alaska, to develop his skills in order to share with people the amazing landscapes that arctic or subarctic areas have to offer.
